Siena’s new home for student life.

Siena opened its new student lounge, named Casey’s, in Sarazen Student Union this fall. The lounge has become the new epicenter for student activity on campus, allowing students to hang out, socialize and study in a comfortable environment.

New student lounge features:

  • Coffee Shop
  • Lunch Service
  • Performance Stage
  • Game Room
  • Outdoor Market/Seating
  • Casual and Comfortable Furniture
  • Charging Stations

The SSU’s renovation also included the addition of a new Interfaith Prayer Room.

Ryan Murphy ’14 has enjoyed a rich Siena College experience. He won the Mr. Siena competition as a sophomore, interned at Senator Chuck Schumer’s Albany office as a junior and serves as Student Senate President as a senior.


Maryellen Gilroy, Ed.D.

Vice President for Student Affairs

As vice president of student affairs, Maryellen Gilroy, Ed.D., oversees student life offerings like freshman orientation, student clubs and residential life activities. She believes that an involved student achieves more academically.

“If students are happy with every other experience, they’re going to be much more engaged in the classroom,” Gilroy said.

Naming Opportunities

Established by Mark Stephen ’65 and Elice Joyce Rose to provide furnishings for the student lounge in Sarazen Student Union. The Rose family, a true Siena family, includes Bridget ’88, Stacey ’89, Sean ’94, Baylee ’08 and Britton.
